When the groom places the ring on his brides' ring finger, the priest pronounces them as husband and wife. Wedding rings are not only used for wedding ceremonies but they also symbolise a union of two persons who are in love with each other. Wedding rings bind them forever as the law binds them together.
Wedding rings are worn by females depending on culture and traditions on their left or right base of the ring finger.It is customary for women to wear them to practically tell the community that they're supposed to be respected because they are already a wife. Since women have a high place in the society, being married is an additional grace and her ring on her ring finger signals that she is to be respected as she bear the dignity and pride of her husband. In most cases, wedding rings are made from family treasures and is a part of the family heirloom. Many traditions have it that wedding rings are to be handed-down to the next generation to preserve the family's name and reputation.
Weddings and marriages are not complete without a ring. Traditions and cultures have wedding rings to celebrate the union of two different customs and have them blessed for unity and harmony. A wife wears her wedding ring to keep the promise to love, to serve and to be faithful to her husband. It is her wedding ring that separates her from other women as she is already a committed woman.
